  • Most forex pairs: 1 pip = 0.0001 (the 4th decimal). Example: GBPUSD moves from 1.2650 to 1.2651 = 1 pip.
  • JPY pairs: 1 pip = 0.01 (the 2nd decimal). Example: USDJPY moves from 150.00 to 150.01 = 1 pip.
  • Gold (XAUUSD): 1 pip = 0.01 (a 1-cent move). Example: Gold moves from 2300.00 to 2300.01 = 1 pip.
  • Indices: 1 pip = 1 point. Example: US30 moves from 40000 to 40001 = 1 pip.
  • Crypto: 1 pip = $1 move. Example: BTCUSD moves from 70000 to 70001 = 1 pip.
